Home Program Review
We recommend Duncan Hoops. If there are trainers that can unlock a players comfort to ask questions, be mentally vulnerable better than this group, we haven’t found them. Aside from the technical mechanics, the acute details therein, Duncan Hoops provides a laboratory for hoopers to fail forward. One of the only groups to earn the hooperindex recommendation.
The Swish League is organized out of Essex Vermont. All games are played at Essex High School. VPA approved referees for the 14+ divisions.
Likely the best opportunity for parents, trainers and advance players to get a sense of the season points of emphasis. For some god forsaken reason each year the powers of the VPA decide to hone in on one or two offending action each year. From hand checking in 2021 to jump stops and moving screens in 2022 you never know what they’ll come up with next. Overly enforce one year only to forget about entirely the next season.
A great showing of six teams in 2022. Largely a Division 2 varsity level program. Dual gyms provide athletes little downtime between games. Great tournament.
This was held at Saint Michaels College. Hosted by Blueprint Basketball. The event in 2022 was largely terrible. This reporter has never seen so many bodies hit the floor since drowning pool by bodies circa 2001. The recreation gym was simply not equipped to handle the moisture and humidity. At least two teams did not finish their scheduled games. Club directors were merely renters of the space and could only watch on in disbelief. Patrons sentiment was quite ripe with criticism. A could miss event certainly.
