Green Mountain Select Fall League
The boys are back in town for the 3rd annual Green Mountain Select league. Fletcher Finegan continues to push the case as to why his game deserves more 👀👀. The 26’ 6’4” utility wing swats shots, drills from the perimeter and has the engine to get out and go and the athleticism consistent throw downs.
The league is being held for the third year at Spaulding High School. Two full HS Courts. Top players to watch in the 26’ Class: Mr. Finegan, Spaulding High School, Nick Mascitti – Williamstown HS, 6’4” Wing, Tej Stewart 6’3” Wing Twinfield. The league has certified referees, offers free admission and parking.
What Stands Out?
Well the reality is in off season basketball some venues charge upwards of $60 per day or $90 per weekend to watch your child play at larger events, $35 per weekend more common for regional events. The Green Mountain Select league offering free admission speaks to the league being true to its roots and mission. Obviously we support assuring cost is never a factor in whether a player has someone present to support them or not.
Certified Referees really help keep consistency. While other tournaments use non certified referees and give them a days worth of games to cover here that couldn’t be more different. Most official observed are long time VPA refs and for the most part provide the players with reasonable expectations of what the refs will be calling when the VPA season kicks off.
