2025-2026 Vermont Basketball Preseason News
Hooper Index is the first to report that one of the top guards in VT, Pascal Munezero, has left Burlington High School after completing a championship season and enrolled at Rice Memorial High School.
Burlington enjoyed the services of Munzero baseline to baseline defensive hounding, no doubt as a large contributor to the title efforts. Nonetheless BHS has found itself in an unusual and unanticipated position. With the departure of Abdi Shariff, a tremendous 6’3” guard now at Phelps School (post grad year) coupled with the Munezero transfer the BHS squad will look to Byron Robertson Jr., Sawyer Judkins and Ben Kough for a coveted back to back championship. Robertson Jr had a stellar year while Judkins was injured and Kough played a pivotal somewhat minute limited role.
Rice Memorial of course does not shy away from recruitment efforts. As coach Pecor retired at the conclusion of 2024-25 season Rice is wasting no time accumulating pieces to backfill their own senior departures: Owen, Evan Eaton. As of the time of this writing Rice Memorial has not yet named a head coach for the 2025 season. Unconfirmed reports another travel basketball teammate of Munezero from Champlain Valley Union High School has also transferred to Rice – reports were unable to be authenticated.
